Can the brain, which is a machine made for recording and playing back, look at itself. NO ! You as a consciousness are observing the mechanics of your mental machine. |

Why do you search? Because something within you keeps gently pushing you. Why do you think you are in control? Because your mind has not observed itself. Today you have observed. What is the answer? |
The idea of me ever putting a book together, seemed as far fetched as me ever doing a Through-Hike of the Appalachian trail. When I was in Wheaton College, my freshman English instructor had the habit of reading the worst and the best written papers of the week every Friday. My papers were read more often than I care to remember -- not a good experience for a freshman's ego. Of course then I did not know I had dyslexia and the I was chronically clinically depressed. My knowledge and philosophy of life have changed in many ways since those dark days. I have worked with people all my professional lfe. I have studied multiple methods of personal growth, emotional healing, and spiritual awakening. I did a great deal of fieldwork work in the areana of daily life before the ideas began to show up in the form of Sayings I wrote down and placed in an envelope the night before a workshop. The next day, after completing the workshop, I would fan out the envelopes and walk around the room letting people choose which envelope they wanted. Most times I had the right amout of envelopes for the participants. People reported that the says spoke to their needs, and eventually started calling my envelopes with the enclosed sayings, Fortune Cookies. An acquaintance of mine, eventually recommended that I put my saying into a book. That process took me 4 years and became Fortune Cookies Vol I, samples of which are below
