Insights & Inspirations
A Store Supporting You on Your Path
Choosing an intuitive
reader or a "psychic reader"
Since you have found Insights and Inspirations website, and more specifically
have come to this part of our
website, I assume you have made a decision to at least explore having
an intuitive reading, or are in the process
of deciding from whom to get an intuitive reading. I realize that the
number of possible sources for a reading can
be overwhelming. While doing my preparation for Insights & Inspirations
website, I did numerous searches using
various "psychic" related words. Depending on the words and
their combinations, I would get several hundred
thousand to well over a million possible web-sites and listings to call
up and evaluate. My goal here is to give you
some reference points to use in your decision making process, whether
you are using the internet or seeking
someone locally for a face to face consultation/reading.
From my research and experience, there are two major structures where
one can go for an intuitive/psychic
reading. First, there are individuals who work alone and, second, there
are networks in which a reader is
embedded. There are some local variations such as sponsored Psychic
Fairs by a store or a friend say for a
birthday party, and local Camps who provide a location for a group of
readers.
When you agree to a reading with someone, you are agreeing to spend
you time, energy, and money for a
service. The service is the provision of information, which you can
use to make decisions, solve a problem, make
a plan, learn something about your personal world, learn something about
your self, and learn something about
your past, which will assist you in the future. The best perspective
over all is to look at the interactions between
intuitive reader and the client as Consultant and Consultee. The intuitive
consultant has the responsibility to
provide their intuitive impressions, which occasionally might have some
"psychic" type information to the
consultee to be used as they see fit. The quality of the reading may
vary from extremely accurate to blank. Let
me explain from my experience: (1) in one of the first readings I received,
the lady described in some detail a
geography for a future event, 2 years later I was in that exact geography
evaluating something of importance to
me, (2) on another occasion, I asked a reader if something specific
had happened to a friends children, had I
acted on that information, it would have been a disaster, because her
impressions were completely wrong I
chose not to act because of an inner uncertainty I felt, and (3) during
one of my readings for an individual, I got
absolutely no impressions, I offered to send her back to the Camp office
to be assigned to another reader or get
her money back, she declined and said she was willing to continue with
me, at that point I got the clear
impression that she had closed herself off to me as a test to see what
I would do, when I told this, she agreed that
she was doing a test, from that point on the I was able to be an intuitive
consultant for her.
So let us look at some considerations and the ideas or concepts related
to them:
1. You are paying a fee for service, THAT FEE SHOULD BE A REASONABLE
FEE, the fee covers the cost
of a website or office, phone, advertisement, which may include the
pay-per-click fee, and personal time and
expertise.
a. It is my opinion that the reasonable fee is in the range of $1.00
to $1.50 per minute and that this fee is
clearly stated on the web page or before the face to face consultation
begins and no fees should be added
once the reading has begun. Fees that are higher than a lawyers or health
professional, are questionable
from the outset.
AVOID: Opened ended phone call fees, or 900 phone numbers, or 800 numbers
that can be switched to 900
numbers, these services make their money by the minute, the current
law says that the consumer must be
informed if a switch in numbers is possible. HAVE CAUTION ABOUT FREE
10 MINUTE READINGS
OR $1 FOR THE FIRST 10 MINUTES.
2. Your consultant should be comfortable with you recording the session.
3. Your consultant should freely give information about their experience
and credentials, or this information
should be on their website.
4. Avoid someone who pressures you into making a first appointment
or a follow-up appointment.
5. Avoid someone who says you or a loved one has a curse, bad karma,
has a physical condition, which they
can fix for a fee (reasons to raise the fee are likely to happen), or
they offer some magical charm or potion,
curse removal, reunite you with a loved one, attract financial success,
or lottery numbers..
6. Be careful with a reader who makes allot of general statements
in an effort to pull you out or who seems to
be using a script. Be cautious about a reader doing allot of "fishing".
A good reader may ask if what they are
saying sense to you, or if what they are saying is accurate. I say this
because often my intuitive impressions
mean little nothing to me, and it is important to know that I am providing
useful information there are
times when I am no, and that means it is time to start over on the subject
(if I come up with the same
impression a second or time, I assume, I am on the right track).
Let us finish with some ideas for you as the consultee:
1. As we state in our introduction, there are two kinds of readings
i.e., Blind, and Consultant. It is important for
you to choose which approach you want, or how you wish to mix the two.
Have a plan before you arrange
for an appointment.
2. You should experience respect for you questions and concerns, and
assistance with your goals for
the reading.
3. There are times when the reader will not get any impressions to
share, you should be told when this is the
case, in which case you should talk with the reader about what to do.
It is very difficult to refund the fee, but
rescheduling for another time to see if a better result can be achieved.
4. You can expect receive information and professional intuitive impressions,
not direct statements about what
to do, you will bare the results of your actions not your consultant.
5. It is best to focus on the present as much as possible, if you
focus on the past, use the information to help
your self in the present, information about the future is ultimately
a potential. You can direct that potential by
what you do in the present in an effort to arrive at the best potential,
though you must keep in mind that if
another person is involved their decisions will also affect that potential,
there are limits to your influence.
An intuitive reader, can give you impressions about the strength of
those potentials and their value to you.
6. Focus on the issues and questions that are important to you right
now and seek understanding.
7. Seek information that will assist you towards finding solutions
in the present.
As a general rule, ponder the information you receive from a reading
for 3 full days before you take any action.
There is an inner process of assessment and integration that goes on
consciously and unconsciously. It may be
a difficult rule to follow, but from personal experience, I can vouch
for the wisdom of this practice.
